This department which is tasked with providing management of the City funds and investments while maintaining the accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and collections, claims, purchasing, taxes and budget ordinance.How to Set Up Water, Sewer & Trash Service
- Apply in the Finance Department at City Hall.
- Documents needed: Photo ID such as a N.C. driver’s license, lease agreement and/or proof of ownership.
- A non-refundable application fee of $15 is required along with any old debt owed to the City of Eden.
- Renters are required to pay a $175 deposit for service inside the City limits. A $250 deposit is required for service outside the City limits.
- The meter is read before water service starts to get a beginning reading.
- You will not be billed for service for at least 30 days after your service begins.
- We currently bill monthly for inside the City residential customers with a ¾” water meter:
- Water Flat Rate $13.80 plus $6.54 per 1,000 gallons
- Sewer Flat Rate $13.17 plus $7.95 per 1,000 gallon
- Solid Waste $23.75.
Understanding Your Bill
- Bills are due 20 days from the bill date. A reminder notice is mailed after the due date. This reminder will include a $10 late fee.
- If payments are not made within 10 days after the due date, a $40 delinquent payment penalty will be charged. Water service will be subject to disconnection without further notice.
- Pay by cash, check or credit card - note that a 3.5 percent processing fee is charged for credit card payments and a returned check fee of $25 will be assessed for all returned checks and drafts. Payments may be made in person, at the dropbox by the front doors of City Hall, by phone or online (see the link to the right).

Human Resources is available to answer questions concerning current job applications and also to assist employees with health insurance and retirement benefits, as well as other employee concerns.
