Responsibilities
The City of Eden is governed by a Council-Manager form of government which includes a Mayor and seven Council Members. The Mayor and City Council serve for a term of four years. The Mayor is the presiding officer and does not vote unless the vote is tied. In the absence or disability of the Mayor, the Mayor Pro Tem (a Council Member), is selected from its members and performs the Mayoral duties. The Council sets and directs policies and the City Manager is the Chief Executive Officer of the City and is responsible for the execution of those policies. Regular city elections are held on Tuesday after the first Monday in November every two years.
Presenting Issues
Time is set aside for citizens to speak during the Regular Eden City Council Meeting under Requests and Petition of Citizens. If you would like to present an issue to the City Council, you may do so at that time. There is a sign-up sheet outside the Council Chambers. Please keep your remarks to 3 minutes or less.
Assistance
The Mayor and City Council are assisted by the City Clerk's Office. You can contact
City Clerk Deanna Hunt or Assistant Blair Barker for help in the Administration Department at City Hall 336-623-2110, option 8.
The online request system allows you to request information, submit requests for service, or submit comments for review. If you have a request or concern and wish to contact City Council, you may use our online Request Tracker Form.
