Deputy Chief

Assists the Chief in recruiting, selecting, and training of personnel; advises, directs, and consults with subordinate officers as needed on a variety of matters including but not limited to training, work assignments, scheduling and discipline. Serves as acting Police Chief during the Chief’s absences, assuming the powers and responsibilities of the Chief.

​A native of Eden, Greg joined the Eden Police Department in April 1992 as a reserve Police Officer. Greg has worked as a Patrol Officer and Investigator. After being promoted to Deputy Chief, Greg was selected to attend the 254th Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA, graduating from the eleven-week training session through the University of Virginia in September 2013. Greg has also received his General Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate from the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. Greg is married to Wendy, and they have two children: a daughter Hannah, who is 16 years old, and a son Adam, who is 12 years old. When not working, Greg enjoys spending time with his family - coaching his daughter in basketball, and watching his son play soccer.
